Priscilla Grace Gladies, a student of the Agricultural Industrial Engineering Study Program (TIP) at the Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology<\/a> (FTIP), Universitas Padjadjaran, class of 2024, has been accepted as an awardee of the Bakti BCA Scholarship 2026<\/a>. The process was not short; behind this acceptance lies an experience of being rejected from a previous scholarship, the decision to try again, and efforts to prepare more systematically. <\/p>\n\n

<\/a>Getting to Know Bakti Champions and the Start of the Journey<\/h2>\n\n

Priscilla Grace Gladies, affectionately called Sisil, is currently registered as an active student of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program (FTIP) Unpad, class of 2024. Sisil participates in academic activities while also being active in the Student Executive Board (BEM) FTIP Unpad organization and Radio Unpad.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n

The Bakti BCA Scholarship is a scholarship program for high-achieving students with a social contribution orientation. Its recipients not only receive financial support but also have the responsibility of carrying out a social project called the Bakti Champions Movement, which focuses on empowering MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in the campus vicinity. This program runs for approximately one year, from November 2025 to around November 2026. <\/p>\n\n

Sisil first learned about Bakti BCA not through official socialization, but from a social media post by a senior student. At that time, Sisil had just faced rejection from another scholarship, which also closed registrations for the following year. That moment became a turning point for Sisil; upon seeing the Bakti BCA scholarship twibbon post from her senior, Sisil began to seek more information and directly asked her senior. <\/p>\n\n

As an out-of-town student, her initial motivation to confidently apply for the Bakti BCA scholarship was to lighten her parents’ burden. However, after learning more about the program, she increasingly realized that Bakti BCA offered more than just financial support. <\/p>\n\n

<\/a>Preparation and Selection Challenges<\/h2>\n\n

When registration for the Bakti BCA 2026 scholarship opened in the middle of the previous year, Sisil had already prepared herself long before the deadline. Document preparation was done earlier than when she first applied for a scholarship. Sisil also underwent independent psychological test training as part of her readiness for the selection process. She believes that this level of preparation differentiated her experience this time from her previous scholarship applications. <\/p>\n\n

In terms of strategy, Sisil realized that Bakti BCA consistently seeks prospective Awardees who have a contribution-oriented mindset, not just personal needs. She applied this strategy in the interview session, answering each question within a framework that could provide a positive impact on others. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cI answered every question with a \u2018user-oriented\u2019 approach and explained what impact or contribution I wanted to make to the surrounding environment.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Sisil’s biggest challenge during the selection process lay in her psychological state. The previous rejection left her with lingering anxiety that often resurfaced throughout the process. Sisil admitted to frequently overthinking the potential outcome. <\/p>\n\n

Sisil firmly confronted this condition by relying on the support of her family and community, as well as the conviction she built that sincere effort would not be in vain, regardless of the outcome. She internalized this mental strategy throughout the selection process. <\/p>\n\n

<\/a>Formative Experiences<\/h2>\n\n

The most memorable part of the entire selection process for Sisil was not when she was declared successful, but when she managed to control her own fear. For someone who admits to being prone to overthinking, the ability to remain emotionally stable throughout the selection process was an achievement in itself. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cI was quite surprised that I could control my fear and convince myself that I could actually do it. Because at first, I struggled, but in the end, I managed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Sisil, along with other awardees, is responsible for developing prototype solutions based on problems faced by MSME actors around Jatinangor in the Bakti Champions Movement program. This process trains analytical and problem-solving skills, and broadens insights into the small business economy in the campus vicinity. <\/p>\n\n

The experience of becoming an awardee changed Sisil’s perspective on scholarships. Sisil understands that the status of a champion is not just a label for receiving aid, but a commitment to make a real impact on the community. <\/p>\n\n

<\/a>The Role of the FTIP Environment in Academic Learning<\/h2>\n\n

The most influential experience in her journey was Sisil’s involvement in BEM FTIP Unpad<\/a>. For Sisil, the organizational environment fostered a culture that had an impact aligned with the character of the Bakti Champions program. <\/p>\n\n

Organizational experience in BEM not only built leadership attitudes but also shaped a mindset from the perspective of beneficiaries. This mindset was then applied in selection interviews and in the implementation of the Bakti Champions Movement. <\/p>\n\n

Sisil’s involvement in Unpad radio also became a platform for developing communication and teamwork skills. The combination of academic activities, student organizations, and the scholarship program formed a mutually supportive self-development pattern during her studies at FTIP Unpad. <\/p>\n\n

<\/a>Message for Other Students<\/h2>\n\n

Never hesitate to try self-development programs. Sisil shares insights from her own experiences, including when she failed. Sisil emphasizes that the uniqueness of college life lies in the many opportunities we have to try new things such as organizations, committees, scholarships, volunteer activities, and various other platforms. <\/p>\n\n

Sisil does not ignore the fear, especially the fear of failure, because it is natural for anyone to experience it. However, the determining difference between success and failure lies in one thing: the courage to keep moving forward even when fear is still present. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWhat is most often regretted is not failure, but opportunities never tried. It is better to move slowly, even if still afraid, than not to move at all.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n
